Using your umbrella at the beach:
- Make sure the bottom post is set at least 35cm deep in the sand.
- To tilt the sail, hold the upper mast before unlocking the hinge. To unlock the hinge, turn the dial counterclockwise as far as possible.
- Allow the upper pole to rotate to the desired position. It is recommended not to exceed an angle of 45 degrees. Always try to tilt the umbrella into the wind, to minimize the risk of it being lifted from the sand.
- To lock the hinge, turn the dial clockwise until the vertical handle is parallel to the bottom post. The Basil hinge should be easy to lock and unlock. If it is stuck, do not force the hinge to close, as you may damage it.
- Bringing an umbrella to the beach is your responsibility. In case of gusts, it is recommended to lower the parasol to prevent it from blowing away.
Using your umbrella at home:
- We recommend that you secure your umbrella in a base. For freestanding umbrellas we recommend the Basil 25kg base and the standard 14kg base for tables.
- In case of gusts, it is recommended to lower the umbrella to prevent it from blowing away.
- Store your umbrella in a protective cover when not in use to extend its life and minimize wear.
